Short on Time?

Image
Time2Grow #1 Damn the paradox! Full speed ahead! Apart  from   time travelers  -  which are a very rare type of people -   we all  get the same  24 hours   a day .  Similarly, monks , hermits and lone wolves are usually the only ones capable of freeing themselves without delay from the most ordinary types of everyday hassles and many other kinds of  not-so-fun   responsibilities. Ain't it cool to shave your head...? So, what does this leaves us with? 😕   Well... with an overwhelming majority of people having exactly the same amount of time in hand as you do , and – most likely – the same unexceptional daily chores and struggles ... Same "stuff", different day... We’re not all that different , although some may try to convince you otherwise. Especially time lords . They’re the worst.  Speaking of which… never trust a time lord .  Have you ever met one?  Full temporal perception … being able to observe the past, the present and the future… in any timestream . Hm

How can you help your team use a time tracking software?

Image
Usually it only takes the mere mention of a time tracking program for most employees to cringe and start protesting. It may or may not be because of bad experiences in the past, but most people just don’t like big changes and are wary of something new, especially when it involves some kind of “control”. Usually, these fears and doubts are not correct and at the end, the outcome is positive; with time tracking software, this is the case.

Why to use Cloud-based Time Tracking and Attendance Software

Image
The idea of using cloud and/or cloud- based enterprise software is sometimes still difficult to adopt and, despite its´ improving and „maturing“, remains controversial. However, there are many kind of tools, especially attendance and time tracking applications , which offer advantages that have the potential to significantly impact the performance and productivity of businesses, especially SMEs.

Hourly rate vs. fixed price

Image
Is there a difference? When taking a job, one of the main concerns is (unfortunately) always about money- will I get paid enough and/or will I charge the right amount? It’s a difficult question that both project managers and freelancers face. To begin with, you should ask yourself what the price of any job you do consists of. It should incorporate your costs (material and time) as well as your profits. We will now focus on the projects for which time is the main resource, while material makes up just a part of the total cost. So how should we price the project? There are 2 ways how to do that, although I will try to show you that in the end, they should be the same.

Calculate your costs based on the value of your time

Image
Time is money Time is money; that we already know. It can be quite easily quantified: the cost of human time at work can be calculated as the ratio between the total monthly cost of an employee (wage, internet, phone) and average monthly number of working hours (168 if you count 8 hours per day and 21 workdays per month). There is however a „problem“: human aren´t machines, their performance can´t be divided into standardized man-hours. We are the furthest thing from dull manufacturing capacities, processing one task after another. We are influenced by the working environment, weather, time of day, hormones and thousands of other things. As a result we´re fairly unproductive one day and discover gravity or painting Mona Lisa the other.

Costs and expenses are counted down to the last penny- so shouldn’t your time be too?

Image
Time as a valuable resource “The most costly outlay is the outlay of time”. This idea is attributed to Antiphon, Socrates’ contemporary. Already in ancient Greece, they knew that time should be calculated and that it is crucial to everyday life, so why do we, modern humans, disregard it so often? In every company, we are very meticulous in our accounting; we know exactly how many paperclips and coffee we need, how much we need to buy and how much we need to sell. But do we know, how much our time is actually worth?
